Timbers Lhasa Apsos and Friends
when you just can't get enough of Lhasa apsos
I purchased my first Lhasa Apso in 1984, little did I know she would change my life. Never would I have thought that one little dog
would take me on my life's journey in the world of dog sports. A few years ago, I thought I had fulfilled all my goals, I had bred/owned/shown over 100 champion Lhasa Apsos;
I had bred 2 top 5 winning Lhasas, I had been invited and shown my lhasas at the Westminster KC show. FFT FERNANDO not only won BEST IN SHOW and multiple BEST IN SPECIALTY,
he went Best of Breed at the prestigious Eukanuba Invitational, and I had earned my AKC judges license- what more was there left to achieve?
I hung up my breeders cap and retired, hoping to just enjoying sharing my knowledge of dogs with others through teaching and training.
What's the saying, : "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl" In my case it is,
"You can take dog away from the girl , but you can't take the dog out of her soul"
Today I am enjoying my dogs at a much more leisurely pace, I go to shows when I want and train when I can. I also take time to enjoy my 4 grown
children and travel with my husband.
I also want to breed an occasional litter and educate the public about this breed that is slowly dying, due partly to lack of popularity.
I hope as you read along and follow my blog, you will share with your friends and acquaintances what an awesome breed the Lhasa Apso is.
Maybe together we can make a difference.
